/ Additional entities

Add additional entities to complete more returns or split your return up into separate business units and use the consolidation feature to finalise a single return. Note: Each additional entity will incur a cost. Refer to the appropriate product page for this information.

/ Installation

easyFBT has been designed to be quick and easy to install with minimal (if any) input required by your IT Department. There is no need to install complex database servers or seek on-going IT administration support or maintenance. All you need is the Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 and you're ready to go. easyFBT complies with Microsoft development guidelines and will execute under a standard User account.

/ Auto backup

Backing up your data is an extremely valuable and important process that sometimes gets overlooked especially during the busy times. By default easyFBT is configured to automatically complete an entire backup of all of your entities to a location of your choice (such as your network file server) when you close the program. Auto backup is fully configurable and can be adjusted to meet your particular backup requirements.

/ System Manager

The System Manager provides access to all of the features required to maintain and manage your entities. Whilst data sources allow you to share your entities across any number of users locally or even remotely depending on your network configuration. Backup, export and import of your data is fully integrated to help you move or restore your data from various sources. Creating entities, consolidations or rolling-over from the prior year is easily done via our wizard driven process.

/ Employer types

All required employer types are catered for within easyFBT: FBT Taxable employers, Exempt employers (Public Benevolent Institutions, Public and non-profit hospitals and public ambulance services) and FBT Rebatable employers.

/ Rollover

The Rollover wizard allows you to carry forward from last year's return your employees and on-going benefits such as vehicles, loans, LAFHA and car parking. The wizard guides you through the selection of one or more entities and optional selection of benefits to carry over into the new FBT year.

/ Import and export entities

Using a simple wizard driven process, export one or more entities or a consolidated entity and all of its associated entities with a few easy clicks. Compressed into a small file, you can then send your entities to colleagues in other offices for collaboration purposes or to external tax reviewers who can view your entities by importing them into their own installation of easyFBT.

/ Entity consolidation

The Consolidation wizard allows you to aggregate any number of entities into a single entity for reporting purposes. An easy to use wizard guides you through selecting the required entities, collecting some information about your consolidation and finalising the aggregation.

/ Data sources

Data Sources make the task of managing different groups of entities a breeze. A data source, in simple terms, is a collection of entities which can be accessed by one or more users and are located on a centrally managed server. Data sources assist your teams in managing separate groups of entities within their own structure with access available via a simple selection process.

/ Workspace

The workspace is your main work area where you complete your return. The Workflow Manager provides access to each of the key areas in easyFBT, such as setting up employees and cost centres, importing your data and entering benefit information into workpapers. The workspace provides a flexible working environment which allows you to lay out your workpapers, documents, reports and docking windows in any way to match your personal workflow preference.

/ Advanced editing features

easyFBT workpapers have a general Microsoft Excel look and feel and share many of the standard features that you come to expect including cut, copy, paste (information pasted into workpapers will be extensively validated, from individual cells to any number of columns and rows) and delete. Other available features include the ability to freeze columns, show and hide specific columns to match your workflow, sorting one or more columns and flagging rows to identify potential review items.

/ Workpaper column help

The workpaper column help details what is generally expected to be entered into input columns. For calculation columns, the help describes how certain calculations are performed and where these calculations are more complex, shows the formula used in general terms. ATO commentary/information is also included within some of the columns for additional guidance.

/ Automated in-house benefit allocation

The In-House Benefit Reduction Allocation wizard automatically allocates the $1,000 in-house benefit reduction amount for in-house benefits to your employees based on your selection of workpapers and order of allocation.

/ Import data

Import your benefit information directly from either Microsoft Excel workbooks (97-2003, 2007 or later), tab-delimited or comma separated text files using our specially designed wizard to guide you through this complex process of adding new benefit data or updating existing benefits with additional information. The Import Data wizard will extensively validate your data files to ensure they comply with the complex rules of each field.

/ Attachments

Wanting to keep all your documents and records as part of your return? easyFBT allows you to store this information on an entity-by-entity basis via our Attachments feature. You can simply drag-and-drop files, create sub-folders and even edit these documents right from within the Attachments Manager in easyFBT. All attachments are stored as part of any export or backup and will remain with your entity until you remove them.

/ Declarations Manager

The Declarations Manager provides access to ATO approved declaration documentation required when completing certain benefit types. Declarations in the form approved by the Commissioner of Taxation are required for various benefit types and are provided within easyFBT as pro-forma documents.

/ On-screen validation, reconciliation and review

Built-in on-screen validation, reconciliation and review reporting provides you with an easy way to review your return. Each report can be searched to show individual employees and all their benefits or grouped to display just their totals and by double-clicking on a row you can drill-down to that benefit row back in the benefit workpaper.

/ Reporting Manager

The Reporting Manager allows you to create, manage and produce printed reports across various areas for review and record-keeping purposes. easyFBT comes standard with over 100 built-in reports for your standard business and employee reporting obligations.

/ RFBA employee letters

Generating reportable fringe benefits amount letters for your employees can be a time consuming task without using easyFBT. The RFBA Employee Letters wizard in easyFBT is extremely flexible. It allows you to select your existing Microsoft Word template (containing your own specific wording), the range of employees to include and then generates individually tailored letters either in Abobe PDF or Microsoft Word format and then optionally e-mails them directly to your employees. Compress days of manual work into just a couple of minutes and let easyFBT do the hard work for you.

/ Create Report wizard

The Create Report wizard allows you to create user-defined reports for each reporting area within easyFBT. The wizard guides you through developing a new report (or editing an existing report) allowing you to determine the area you wish to report, whether it's detailed or summary, the columns (and order) to display and other key items such as grouping, pagination, sorting and filtering. If there is a report you require, easyFBT will allow you to create it. In fact, we use the Create Report wizard to create all included system reports!

/ Comparison reports

Comparison reporting is designed to provide a year-on-year comparison between prior year and current year results either as on-screen or as printable reports. Compare across Reconciliation, Fringe Benefits Provided and Employee Payment Summary (RFBA) reporting areas.

/ Manual lodgement (Paper form)

Once you have completed your return, easyFBT can produce the final ATO registered FBT Return form ready for printing, sign-off and lodgement with the ATO. Before your return form is generated and displayed, a number of validations are completed to ensure your benefits have been processed and allocated correctly within the workpapers.

/ Electronic lodgement (SBR)

Interact directly with the ATO's Standard Business Reporting (SBR) portal using our SBR Interaction wizard. You can both Prelodge and Lodge your return and review each interaction independently. If you have yet to register for an AUSkey you can still produce and lodge the paper form instead.
